Paralegal, Intellectual Property Patent Prosecution Duties: File US and PCT applications. Coordinate filings of foreign patent applications with foreign law firms. Coordinate the filing of formality documents including oaths, powers of attorney, assignments, information disclosure statements, and formal drawings. Correspond with clients, attorneys, and foreign law firms regarding all aspects of the patent prosecution process. Monitor approaching deadlines, take appropriate action, and follow-up with relevant parties. Research and maintain working knowledge of US, PCT, and foreign patent prosecution rules and procedures, navigate and utilize a plethora of patent related websites and databases. Maintain electronic files.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree, is required. Prior patent paralegal experience, is preferred. Familiarity with legal resources. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact well with people at all levels of the organization and some external parties. Demonstrate a positive attitude, strong judgment, initiative, integrity and be a dependable, highly motivated, team player. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities. Flexibility to operate independently and in a team atmosphere with a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism. Ability to work overtime when required.
