Associate Counsel Attorney The Candidate will serve 75% Regulatory and Compliance/25% Business Transaction duties. Will report to company’s Chief Legal Officer. Represent the Legal Department in advising, guiding and assisting business units in developing and maintaining products, marketing, scripting, consumer facing communications and internal processes in compliance with applicable federal and state financial laws and regulations. Maintenance and execution of company’s Compliance Management System, and related training, implementation and audit testing of the same with the various business units. Work daily with Quality Control Department in developing, maintaining and executing upon internal compliance and audits. Handle state licensing matters including annual reporting and audits. Resolve escalated consumer complaint matters along with maintaining consumer complaint logs and resolving credit reporting disputes. Day to day interface person with company’s bank partners on compliance review and approval of company’s marketing, loan programs, consumer interface items and other matters subject to bank review or approval. Training of company’s personnel on applicable laws and policies. Provide support to Chief Legal Officer on business transaction matters. Assist business units in intermediate level business agreements drafting and negotiations. Develop and maintain forms for standardized business transactions. Interact with outside legal counsels and law firms to obtain proper legal and regulatory compliance guidance.
Qualification and Experience
The Candidate should have JD Degree. Must have good standing with a State Bar Association (Georgia Bar admission is preferred). Should have 4+years of Legal experience in law firm In House, or governmental position related to the Financial Industry Knowledge of consumer financial protective laws such as TILA, UDAAP, GLBA, Fair Lending, TCPA, FDCPA, and like such laws is needed.
