Senior Counsel (Telecommunications) The candidate will work on global legal and regulatory matters relating to company’s low earth orbit satellite broadband internet business. Advise the team on domestic and international telecommunications laws, regulations, and policy. Negotiate transactions relating to the business. Draft policies and terms of service for consumer and enterprise customers. Advise the company on domestic and international cybersecurity, privacy, lawful intercept, and data protection laws and draft related policies. Other legal matters relating to businesses.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have JD from an ABA-accredited law school. Must have active Bar membership with ability to register as in-house counsel in California. Should preferable have mix of law firm and in-house experience. Should have 10 years of experience as a telecommunications lawyer at a top tier law firm and/or within a top tier in-house legal department. Must have deep knowledge of international telecommunications legal, business, and regulatory issues. Knowledge of cybersecurity, privacy, lawful intercept and data protection issues is required. Shave knowledge of broadband, ISP, wireless and/or satellite industry practices. Must have understanding of both consumer facing and enterprise telecommunications businesses. should have understanding of international corporate and licensing issues in telecommunications industry, including foreign ownership requirements / approvals. Experience with complex corporate structures and transactions internationally is needed.
