The candidate Duties includes: Responsible for gathering and managing evidence in civil, criminal, juvenile, and traffic cases; Presenting information in court to prosecute or defend actions; especially more complex civil and criminal lawsuits; Advise Law Enforcement officers, prepare and present warrant application, and conduct probable cause hearings; Advise elected and appointed officials and County employees as to their legal rights, represent County agencies in legal proceedings; Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. Should have Juris Doctorate and 1 year of experience in criminal litigation and two (2) years in an active law practice; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. North Dakota license to practice law at the time of hire Applying Federal, State, and local laws, rules and regulations. Must have Knowledge of judicial and administrative procedures and rules of evidence. Should have experience prosecuting or defending criminal cases. Must have ability to analyze facts, evidence, and legal instruments as well as, legal problems and rendering formal opinions.
