Attorney
Law Fellow Responsibilities: Work with attorneys to craft and submit a fellowship proposal to Equal Justice Works. Conduct legal research and analysis. Conduct federal legislative advocacy. Network and collaborate with other advocacy organizations. Conduct policy research and analysis.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Law degree (at the time of the beginning of the fellowship). Eligibility to apply for an Equal Justice Works Fellowship (for a fellowship beginning in fall 2018), and the ability to complete the application process by the deadline. A solid foundation in administrative law. Passion for public interest environmental law. Strong communication skills, especially the ability to translate administrative law jargon into plain language and communicate to expert and lay audiences how regulations affect people’s lives. Strong legal writing ability as well as the ability to write for a non-expert audience. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work hard, efficiently, and independently. Experience working on Capitol Hill or in an administrative agency is preferred.
