Position Title: Associate Attorney (3+ years’ experience)

Location: Kirkwood, MO

Travel: Some – moderate.

Educational Requirements: J.D.; member of the Missouri Bar in good standing; admission to practice in federal court (or qualified for such admission)

Kirkwood law firm seeks an ambitious full-time associate attorney to join a thriving litigation practice.  Applicants for this position must possess at least 3 years’ experience in civil litigation and be ready to hit the ground running.  From day one you will be expected to handle depositions, discovery, and robust motion practice.  The ideal candidate will have experience in the areas of property law, employment law, and civil rights - but the right candidate can overcome any specific inexperience in these fields by demonstrating extensive civil practice experience and success in both state and federal court.

Responsibilities of the position include:

• Litigation support for senior associate attorneys and partners including client relations, discovery and motion practice, research and writing, trial and appeals; the right candidate will quickly develop their own slate of cases;
• Effectively manage billable hours and significant workload;
• Filing various pleadings and memoranda via standard and electronic court filing systems;
• Maintaining client files;
• High attention to detail with the ability to organize and prioritize tasks;
• Contributing to effective client and public relations; and
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to respond to sensitive and/or technical customer situations with a high degree of diplomacy and confidentiality.
