Assistant Attorney General The candidate in the Tobacco Enforcement Bureau handles complex regulatory and multi-state litigation. Assistant Attorneys General investigate manufacturers and distributors who sell cigarettes in Illinois to ensure compliance with the MSA and related state laws. Also participate in multi-state efforts regarding tobacco products, including the enforcement of various statutes relating to the illegal manufacture and sale of cigarettes. Must be licensed by the State of Illinois at the time of application. Must have a demonstrated commitment to public service with strong investigative and problem-solving skills. Ideal candidates will have litigation and/or regulatory experience as well as sound judgment and excellent research, writing and legislative drafting skills. Background or experience with tobacco and other public health legal/policy issues preferred.
