Deputy Program Director 87289 The candidate will be responsible for assisting in developing, directing, managing, and conducting the daily operations of the ADR Division’s programs in the COSA. This will include, case screening, conducting mediations or settlement conferences, conducting telephone settlement conferences, and supervising grant management. Draft court orders, conduct training and development, supervise staff, and supervise the generation and tracking of data and statistics. Work closely with the Administrative Office of the Courts in managing the budget and grants. First line of contact for the ADR Division staff, and will maintain relationships with the Judges of the Court of Special Appeals and Circuit Courts. The Deputy Director supervises staff attorney(s) and clerical staff assigned to the ADR Division. Must have Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited institution. Should preferably have 3+ years of work experience in a legal environment with some appellate practice. Must be a member in good standing with the Maryland Bar. 1+ year of mediation or ADR experience, program management is preferred, with experience in resolving complex and multiple party conflicts through an ADR approach. Knowledge of Maryland civil and appellate procedures is required. Experience and skill in general litigation, mediation, negotiations, and other forms of ADR is needed.
