Product Regulatory Counsel Responsibilities: Directly responsible for regulatory guidance and support of all private passenger auto and related products (including excess coverage) and homeowner and package products in select states. Works closely with Forms and Product on new product roll outs and development. Serves as legal counsel contact to Market Conduct Examination coordinators on regulatory issues. May provide legal review of product descriptions in marketing brochures and other correspondence. Legal review of select complaints and other issues in assigned states. May have state regulatory responsibilities for up to 20 states on state specific issues and across P&C in assigned subject areas, such as credit usage, privacy, advertising, agency contracts, and so forth. Will work closely with compliance unit on new law identification and compliant interpretation and application and also will interact with team of attorneys across the corporate and business areas. Also, may be responsible for guidance to a certain function, such as IT, Claims, or Billing on legal and regulatory issues.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: JD Degree, license in the state where counsel will be based or ability to obtain such license without taking full Bar. CPCU and/or other insurance designations may be helpful. 7+ years of experience of relevant property and casualty insurance experience. Experience working in house at a property and casualty insurance company.
