Fintech Research Associate
The candidate is responsible for supporting the Fintech Research team’s research efforts, especially involving digital currencies. Perform industry analysis and research on emerging digital currency developments in both the public and private sectors. Conduct primary and secondary non-technical research primarily focusing on policy implications of digital currencies. Will work with both technical and policy researchers. Report on global digital currency developments and trends. Research policy implications associated with digital currencies such as the effect on competitive landscape of payments, trends, standards, barriers, and risks. Collect and summarize data and reports from other digital currency researchers. Communicate research, findings, and recommendations in briefings to inform team management and other stakeholders. Proofread, edit, fact-check, summarize and comment on team articles and papers. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge and experience normally acquired through, or equivalent to, the completion of a Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in a relevant field such as economics, finance, law or related fields. Working experience with digital payments, cryptocurrencies, or central bank digital currencies is highly desirable. Strong grasp of the fundamentals of money, banking, payments, finance and related concepts. Understanding of financial market structure is preferred. Excellent research and analytical capabilities. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Good interpersonal and presentation skills. Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project). Experience with data analysis and economic software a preferred. Foreign language proficiency and an interest in international digital currency developments preferred.
