A law firm in Fresno, CA, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with a strong background in employment litigation. The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice law in California and have at least 2 years of experience in employment matters, including wage and hour disputes, PAGA, and FSLA. This role requires extensive client interaction, effective case management, and the ability to handle various aspects of litigation, including depositions, motions, and trial proceedings. Experience in trial, mediation, or other dispute resolution processes is preferred. Experience in the public sector is a plus.

Duties:

  • Conduct substantive witness interviews and manage discovery processes.
  • Take and defend depositions; appear regularly in court to argue and defend motions.
  • Draft and argue dispositive motions, including demurrers, anti-SLAPP motions, motions for judgment, and motions for summary judgment.
  • Manage case files and coordinate case strategy, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Provide extensive client contact, including updates and legal advice.
  • Handle trial, mediation, or other dispute resolution processes as required.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and team members on case strategies and legal issues.
  • Prepare detailed legal documents and correspondence related to employment litigation.
  • Keep abreast of developments in employment law and public sector regulations.

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the state of California.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in employment litigation, including wage and hour disputes, PAGA, and FSLA matters.
  • Experience in trial, mediation, or other dispute resolution processes is preferred.
  • Experience in the public sector is a plus.
  • Strong client management and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft and argue dispositive motions effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and case management skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (.) from an ABA Accredited Law School.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar License in the state of California.

Skills:

  • Experience in employment litigation, with a focus on wage and hour, PAGA, and FSLA matters.
  • Proficiency in managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, and drafting dispositive motions.
  • Strong analytical and research skills for preparing legal arguments and strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage litigation matters effectively and work collaboratively with a legal team.
  • Experience in trial, mediation, or other dispute resolution processes is preferred.
  • Experience in the public sector is a plus.
