Paralegal I/II (02-1289) Duties: The candidate will do Conflict review and analysis. Will work on trial file organization, Discovery indexing and case management. Expert witnesses coordination and communication. Subpoena service. Procurement of Client clothing for trial. Parole, Post Conviction Relief and Juvenile caseload support.
Qualification and Experience
Qualification: The candidate must have previous work experience handling highly confidential and sensitive material is essential. Must have 3+ years of clerical or technical experience in a law enforcement or law office environment. Experience should have included performance of case research and/or preparation of routine legal documents. Must have experience includes such work as Law Office Assistant I or Criminal Justice Technician with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere. OR Must have certification from an American Bar Association (ABA) approved state paralegal training and education program. OR Must have graduation from an Associate of Arts program in paralegal, criminal justice or legal studies. OR Must have Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and certification in paralegal studies from a recognized program. OR Must have 3+ years in any combination of post secondary education from an accredited college, and clerical or technical experience in a law enforcement or law office environment. Experience should have included performance of case research and/or preparation of routine legal documents. The required experience includes such work as Law Office Assistant I or Criminal Justice Technician with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere (3 semester hours or 4 quarter hours equal 1 month of experience). PARALEGAL II Must have 1+ year of experience as a Paralegal I, Victim/Witness Paralegal I, or Criminal Justice Technician II with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere. OR 1- year of study at an accredited school of law. OR Must have Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in paralegal, criminal justice, or legal studies.Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Adobe Professional and the internet is essential.
