Legal Assistant The candidate will open new files. Will gather and analyze intake information and relevant documents. Enter pertinent information into Time Matters. Fully investigate each case. Maintain contact with clients on a regular basis. Verify insurance coverage and maintain contact with insurance company. Manage medical care of clients. Prepare documents and correspondence such as demand letters, billing inquiries, etc. Draft settlement demand packages. Relay settlement negotiation from attorney to clients and adjusters utilizing demands/offers in Time Matters. Collect documentation of all damages sustained such as medical records, bills and loss of income. Read and interpret medical records and reports. Organize and maintain case files. Organize tangible damages utilizing special damages in Time Matters. Diary files using ‘to-do’s’ in time Matters so as to work each file at least every 4-5 weeks. Must have strong work ethic and be able to work well in a fast paced environment. Must have excellent people skills as the position requires a great deal of client contact. Must have exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Must have computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word and legal software. Time Matter is helpful. Knowledge of medical terms and traumatically induced conditions is helpful.
