Administrative Paralegal The candidate will assist with Texas Public Information Act requests and assist with requests from the Attorney's Office. Will process incoming Texas Public Information Act (TPIA) requests from WebQA, mail and intergovernmental transfers in a timely manner. Process requests from the Attorney's Office. Request documents from varies HCSO departments. Review and redact documents prior to sending out. Enter data into various Legal Services databases. Continue legal education. Perform other duties and assignments as required and/or necessary.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have high school diploma or GED equivalency and Paralegal certificate. Associate's degree is preferred. Experience working in a legal/law office environment is desired. Should be proficient in the use of standard office software programs such as MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of creating spreadsheets in Excel and Mail Merges is required. Knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure is needed. Should have demonstrated exceptional language skills so that written and oral communications can be presented with proper grammar, spelling, punctuation and clear understanding. Should preferably have knowledge of: SIRS, Justice Information Management Systems (JIMS), and WebQA; Rules of Federal Procedure; and Texas Public Information Act. Must be bilingual in Spanish.
