Medical Records Retrieval Coordinator/Legal Assistant The candidate will request medical billing and input into the legal tracking system. Request medical records and be able to decipher between treatment records, surgical reports, and expert reports. Request lien information from lien holders. Follow up on records and bills. Track and follow up on all NPNPâ€™s requests and responses. Scan records and bills into Adobe Acrobat Pro and create portfolio. Sort all records and bills by date and facility. Input data, draft letters/requests, and track costs in the firm's case management system, Aderant Total Office. Prepare medical binders for depositions, mediations, and trial. Verify balances (verbal & written). Verify Liens (verbal & written). Keep track of monthly billing for records requests. Back up the receptionist by answering phone calls when needed.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred. 3-4 years of related experience required. Preference will be given to candidates who possess experience in Civil Litigation. Someone with prior medical records and/or legal office experience is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication. Problem solving. Active listening. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices. Knowledge of Dropbox, Aderant Total Office or Client Profiles, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
