Senior Counsel (Healthcare/Transactional) The candidate will responsible for senior legal support for contract drafting, negotiation and strategy for our hospital and provider customers (regional group purchasing organizations, acute care and specialty pharmacy customer contracts, state and local government contracts). Will provide health care regulatory advice (AKS) related to discount, administrative fee payment and personal services arrangements, false claims, antitrust, privacy and 340B. Works collaboratively with the compliance, Contract Development Managers and operations teams. Manages 2 legal professionals (Contract Specialists) who provide cross-functional support to MHS and other US Pharma businesses. Serves as the legal advisor to MHS leadership on a wide array of topics relating to the customer segment needs, including legal risk mitigation, customer relationship management and retention, and service offerings. and Frequent interactions with other internal stakeholders across functional groups (contract development, credit, pricing, operations, cross-General Counsel Organization stakeholders and experts).

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must have 10+ years of corporate law experience. Must have excellent commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills. Must be high comfort providing health care regulatory advice (anti-kickback law, FCA, privacy, 340B, government contracting, antitrust) as well as commercial legal advice. Preference for experience in the hospital or health system space and/or negotiating commercial contracts with health care providers. Must have proven management experience, and a strong desire to develop and manage high-functioning legal professionals. Must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Must have excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to provide sound, clear legal advice to all levels within the company, including senior business executives. Must have ability to work closely with, facilitate interactions within, and influence large cross-functional teams (including representatives from other areas of the General Counsel Organization regulatory and compliance professionals, sales professionals and operations managers). Law firm experience combined with in-house experience, preferred. Should have Doctor Degree with excellent academic credentials. Member of a jurisdiction is required.
