Job Description

Duties

  • Represent lenders in commercial finance transactions, including secured and unsecured bank and private equity fund lending from origination through documentation.
  • Advise banks, private equity funds, and other financial institutions on documenting credit transactions.
  • Guide UCC Article 9 and mortgage and property law.
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate loan documents and related agreements.
  • Conduct due diligence and manage closing processes.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients and stakeholders to ensure smooth transaction progress.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to deliver high-quality legal services.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations in all transactions.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience representing lenders in commercial lending transactions at a law firm, bank, or finance company.
  • Experience representing lenders in commercial finance transactions, including secured and unsecured bank and private equity fund lending.
  • Familiarity with UCC Article 9 and mortgage and property law.
  • Strong communication and client relation skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple transactions simultaneously and meet client deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Superior academic credentials.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Member in good standing or eligible to waive into the Illinois Bar.
