Paralegal The candidate will be working in an employment litigation law firm. Duties will include, but are not limited to: general case management, calendaring, drafting employment-related documents, proofreading, preparing and amending documentation, analyzing records (including medical) and other evidence; performing research through Westlaw and/or other research materials; liaising with clients, where appropriate, on the progress of their matter; and maintain accurate time records. Composes, drafts, and edits documents in accordant with the Firm’s standards and styles as required. Cite-checks pleadings and correspondence.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have a minimum 2 years of litigation experience. Must have paralegal certificate and be up-to-date with CLE. Must be able to type a minimum of 55 wpm. Ability to work well under pressure. Must possess excellent organizational skills and be very detail-oriented. Good technical skills are a necessity including working knowledge of computer software programs and databases, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Excellent grammatical and spelling skills. Ability to organize and prioritize. Experience with federal and state court filing systems. Knowledge of court rules and procedures. Monitor client matters on a routine basis. Possess interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate in person, by e-mail and telephone to provide information with ordinary professionalism, courtesy and tact. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Must be able to be punctual reporting to work and maintain satisfactory attendance. Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position. Spanish-speaking a plus.
