Unclaimed Property Staff Consultant The candidate will review client records (e.g., accounting documents, procedures, etc.) to identify areas of potential unclaimed property noncompliance. Will conduct interviews of client’s accounting and departmental personnel. Will identify client’s potential unclaimed property exposure. Will develope strategic plans to limit client’s potential exposure. Will present suggestions to clients to reduce potential exposure. Will create models by employing methodologies to calculate potential exposure. Will assist with the management of client’s state unclaimed property audits. Will aiding in drafting technical written memorandums. Will interact with clients, outside legal counsel, and state unclaimed property. Will assist with analysis of clients’ unclaimed property policies and procedures. Will prepare and filing of annual unclaimed property reports to all US jurisdictions.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate will have General knowledge of GAAP. Should have strong organizational and project management skills. Should have effective written and oral communication. Must be proficient technology skills in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word and PowerPoint (Access not required, but preferred). Must have ability to read, interpret and gain basic understanding of various jurisdictional unclaimed property reporting requirements.
