Job Description

An industry leading, internationally-recognized agricultural company, is looking to add a full-time Junior Corporate Attorney to join our team remotely based out of the Southern, California area. Successful candidates will have experience in structuring, negotiating, reviewing and drafting a variety of contracts in a broad range of business-related transactional areas. Basic understanding of employment law and litigation-related matters, such as responding to subpoenas and discovery, preferred. In this role, you will be conducting legal review of contracts, providing transactional and operational counseling on a diverse range of legal issues and contracting management matters across business units in the United States and internationally.

Responsibilities:

  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, organization skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently
  • Organizing and managing documents, including the creation of spreadsheets and retrieval systems
  • Provide day-to-day legal support and advice to internal business partners;
  • Draft and review contracts in a broad range of areas, such as, sales and distribution agreements, joint venture agreements, general service provider arrangements, construction contracts, settlement and release agreements, real estate purchase and sale agreements, and other business-related transactional areas;
  • Collaborate with in house attorneys and other groups across the company, including various operating company units, and corporate human resources.
  • Assist with employment-related legal matters;
  • Assist with corporate governance matters;

  • Other duties as assigned by legal management team.

Education and Experience Requirements:

-Juris doctorate from an accredited law school.

-Member of the California Bar.

-Minimum 3 years of recent experience within a law firm setting or in-house legal department;

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products.
