Contract Research Analyst The candidate will develop and maintains working relationships with team members to facilitate new risk processes and policies. Backs up functions within the department as assigned. Will promote a risk-aware culture; ensures efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and practices. Coordinates the research related to Assignment, Assumption, and Consent to Assignment Agreements. Researches and identifies original and current governing Merchant Services Agreements following an established process. Completes corporate structure research to determine the highest well-funded business entity with which DFS should have its Merchant Services Agreement. Conducts quality reviews of research performed by team members. Researches, reviews, and develops processes to assess and monitor new and existing business relationships from a financial risk perspective. Ensures that the appropriate compliance and legal requirements are considered when reviewing new and existing programs or business models. Makes and implements recommendations regarding service levels and expectations to provide business partners with the tools and information needed to make decisions using a financial risk-based approach. Documents risk methods and processes to support Payment Services initiatives. Act as a Counterparty Risk Liaison with Strategic Merchant Relations, Due Diligence, Client Support, Finance, Network Operations, and other strategic areas on cross-functional projects. Confers with stakeholders to identify and resolve problems.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have H.S. Diploma or GED. Must have 2+ years of experience in reviewing and drafting contracts, change of ownership merger and acquisition knowledge, problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills. In lieu of education requirements, 4+ years of Payments Acquiring or Network Operations is required. Bachelor's Degree in Business Law or Business Management is preferred. A paralegal is a plus.
