Attorney The candidate will work closely with state, federal, and local law enforcement agencies and will be involved in all aspects of the investigation, prosecution, and sentencing of violent crime cases. Violent crime cases range from bank robbery, carjacking and assault, to illegal possession of firearms and the use of firearms in relations to the commission of violent or drug crimes. Violent crime cases also include the illegal manufacture and distribution of controlled substances. Will conduct grand jury practice and will work with victims of violent crimes to obtain restitution and ensure that their rights are protected.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: JD Degree, be an active member of the bar (any jurisdiction), and have 3+ years post-JD Degree experience. A member of the Alabama Bar or willing to become a member within the first 24 months of employment. Preferred: Federal or state criminal trial experience, although applicants with a variety of litigation backgrounds that demonstrate analytical ability, judgment, and advocacy skills will also be considered. Applicants must possess a strong academic background, superior legal writing and research ability, and a commitment to professionalism, ethics, civility, and public service. Ability to manage large, complex investigations and prosecutions. Term: 14-month (temporary) basis pending favorable adjudication of a background investigation. Deadline: January 19, 2018
