Health and Welfare Benefits Compliance Specialist The candidate will assist employers in the creation, customization and quality review of comprehensive ERISA plan documents (including Summary Plan Descriptions). Provide technical guidance and training for prospects and clients, referral partners and the internal team as needed. Work directly with the HR and Benefits services sales team to manage and facilitate the sales process with employers. Update and maintain employer and benefits plan information in the database to ensure accuracy. Experience with ERISA compliance for Health and Welfare benefits is preferred. Should have 3+ years of practical experience in employee benefits or employee benefit administration. Should have strong writing skills. Proficient in ERISA compliance and ACA guidelines for small and large employer groups is essential. Solid understanding of Section 125 and 105 rules, COBRA and HIPAA is needed. Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years’ experience is preferred, or a combination of some college and a paralegal certificate is essential. Experience with SunGard Relius documents is a plus. Experience with Microsoft Access or a relational database is a plus.
