ProfileIP Counsel The candidate will coordinate patent prosecution with outside counsel and internal IP counsel. Will manage patent committees, develop invention disclosures and drive identification of innovation. Lead invention harvesting sessions and assist inventors in drafting high quality invention disclosures. Shape and execute on company's strategic patenting plan and conduct reviews of company patent portfolio as required. Create IP training material and provide training sessions to various company businesses and geographies. Coordinate with legal department counterparts in company divisions and geographies. Support other internal legal activities, including M&A and litigation.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have top academic credentials. J.D. degree and license to practice required. Should be in good standing with one or more states. Must have 2-4 years of patent prosecution experience. Software or related engineering degree required. Patent Bar accreditation is needed. Should have expertise in patent prosecution, particularly in virtualization, networking, cloud, mobility, and content collaboration technology spaces. Software development or engineering work experience required. Extensive knowledge and understanding of technology and industry related to company businesses is essential. Familiarity with US federal and state laws and worldwide laws concerning intellectual property is a must. Strong writing and presentation skills needed. Large firm and/or in-house corporate experience is required. Will travel as needed to company offices worldwide, including India.
