Vice President of International Tax The candidate will be responsible for the global tax function for the company, including: International, federal, state and local income tax compliance, as well as US indirect and property tax compliance; Accounting for income taxes; Global tax planning; Assisting in M&A due diligence, tax structuring and related work; Building, managing and developing professional tax staff. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally across the business to identify and execute strategies to lower the Companyâ€™s Effective Tax Rate. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer. Responsibilities: Manage completion of federal, state and international income tax returns, including all related analysis and support; Optimize the Companyâ€™s effective tax rate; Lead, develop, and implement US & International tax planning projects, including those related to legal entity reorganizations & structuring, US tax reform, operational initiatives, global operating model considerations, transfer pricing, and financing, etc.; Evaluate and manage the impact of US Tax Reform; Assist with M&A due diligence, tax structuring and integration; Responsible for accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) in the US and international subsidiaries, including FIN 48 and other valuation allowance reserves; Manage calculations of tax attributes and other items related to foreign corporations; Oversee sales & use and property tax functions; Direct audits of federal and state income tax filings, as well as state & local sales & use tax filings; Monitor international tax audit matters; Administer transfer pricing, management fee and royalty arrangements; Supervise, mentor and coach professional staff; Liaison with management and Accounting staff on tax related issues; Work cross-functionally with all levels of management across the Company; Ensure that appropriate internal controls/SOX compliance are in place over accounting for income taxes; Assist in controlling and forecasting cash tax outflows; Responsible for annual R&D tax credit study and other studies to minimize the Companyâ€™s effective tax rate; Designs and directs the work of the functional area. Selects, coachers and develops the team, setting objectives that align with company strategy to inspire and motivate the team. Manages organizational talent through performance management, succession planning and development. Designs and directs processes by which team and individual performance are recognized, feedback is consistently delivered and performance is systematically improved.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Bachelorâ€™s degree in accounting/tax. Should have 15 years of related experience in a senior corporate tax role. Must have multi-faceted experience with international tax planning in a global manufacturing environment. Should have demonstrated hands-on approach and success in working in a cross-functional, team-based environment. Masterâ€™s degree / J.D. in business taxation preferred; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is desired Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP, including OneSource is desired.
