Environmental Regulatory Licensing Specialist The candidate will function in a lead consultant role or as a lead technical specialist. Will apply advanced techniques and analyses for conventional assignments. Expand knowledge and skill set in practice area and begin to expand knowledge in other practice areas. Work under limited supervision and can lead a small effort or assignment. Research, monitor, review and summarize federal, state, local and international environmental legislation and regulations for power generation and major industries. Consult with regulatory agencies to obtain relevant data and guidance, ascertain applicable permitting requirements and processes, and identify options and alternatives for obtaining authorizations and waivers. Prepare memoranda, documents, reports and permit applications relevant to permitting, licensing, and environmental compliance efforts. Advise and assist Project Managers in coordinating engineering, environmental and subconsultants in performance of environmental studies and licensing work. Perform evaluations of facilities and properties to assess risks and valuation of assets in transactional divestiture and/or acquisition projects.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should preferably have BS/BA in environmental studies or environmental engineering, or related field, including paralegal training, with preference for a higher MS or J.D. degree. Must have 5 years of related work experience. Experience in working with or for environmental regulatory agencies, law firm and/or environmental consulting firm desired. Experience in performing routing studies associated with Transmission line projects (or similar) needed.
