Temp Contract Attorney The candidate will be responsible to provide Research and Writing Support for a Cutting Edge National Reentry Legal Guide. Researching legal issues that affect people in reentry from federal facilities, using the “Roadmap to Reentry” and other published guides as primary sources of information, particularly on navigating federal probation/parole/supervision. Conducting new research on the provisions of the First Step Act and other topics as needed. Distilling and explaining complex legal information and concepts in everyday written language accessible to 5th-8th grade reading levels. Adapting relevant federal content from the “Roadmap to Reentry” and other published guides, along with new research, for the federal reentry written resources (on topics such as getting Identification, housing, employment, finance, transportation, mental health and substance use counseling, and other subjects). Supporting with communication, partnership development and stakeholder engagement. Frequent communication with R&R supervisors. Must have J.D.
