Job Overview: A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Litigation Partner to join its Newport Beach, CA office. While a portable book of business is not required, the firm is looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong desire to develop business, take on key client relationships, and participate in the firm’s long-term succession plan. Location:

Duties:

  • Lead and manage labor and employment litigation, specifically focusing on wage and hour actions.
  • Handle all aspects of individual, class, and collective wage-and-hour lawsuits.
  • Oversee case strategy, including discovery, motions, and settlement negotiations.
  • Cultivate and maintain client relationships, including business development and client retention efforts.
  • Mentor and support junior associates, providing guidance on case management and career growth.
  • Collaborate with other practice areas and team members to address complex legal issues.
  • Assist in the firm’s overall succession planning and contribute to its long-term success.
  • Attend trials, depositions, mediations, and hearings as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in labor and employment litigation with a focus on wage and hour law.
  • Strong track record in handling class and collective actions.
  • Proven ability to manage complex litigation matters and lead teams.
  • A deep understanding of labor and employment laws, especially wage and hour regulations.
  • Business development experience and a proactive approach to client relationships.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong legal writing, research, and analytical abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar of California.
