REQUIREMENTS 2+ yearslegal experience in Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS/CPS), Juvenile Delinquency and Appellate cases is strongly preferred 5 + years legal experience in Family Law including contested conservatorship and property division cases Strong document preparation skills in WordPerfect and/or Microsoft Word Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro and Outlook Proficient in e-filing using Efile, TXCourts.gov and ProDoc Experience with MyCase and M-Files strongly preferred Strong typing skills including proofreading and editing from attorney hand-written notes Position requires the following main duties: Drafting and sending correspondence to attorneys, court staff, and clients in Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS/CPS), juvenile delinquency, contested conservatorship and property division cases Receiving, sorting and filing paper and electronic mail including service emails Drafting pleadings, motions, temporary orders, decrees and briefs E-filing using Efile, TXCourts.gov and ProDoc Creating and maintaining paper and client files in M-Files Professional telephone etiquette Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and liaisons Calendaring all case deadlines, calculating and calendaring all due dates for attorneys Issuing and responding to discovery Assisting attorneys in preparing for hearings, mediation, depositions, appellate proceedings and trial The ideal candidate should: Be well organized with strong attention to detail Be able to prioritize/multi-task with little supervision Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills Be positive and professional Be punctual and dependable Connolly & Shireman Houston, TX, USA Compensation $45,000 to $55,000 Annually / Salary commensurate with experience Benefits Offered 401K, Dental, Medical, Vision Employment Type Full-Time
