Sacramento office of our client seeks senior trust and estates attorney with 5+ years of legal experience and preferably with 3+ years of Estate Planning, Trust Administration, Tax Planning and Probate experience preferably in California and experience with advanced estate planning. The candidate will be supporting senior attorneys in complex matters, directing, assisting and mentoring junior attorneys, and handling their own estate planning practice. Senior attorneys include three California Bar Certified Specialists in Estate Planning, Trusts, and Probate Law, as well as the Department Head and two other attorneys who practice in these areas. Will assist the litigation department in disputes surrounding their area of law. Routinely be requested to provide support and information dealing with their area of expertise to the other practice areas of the Firm, specifically including business, non-profit, tax and international departments. Serve in practice areas of ultra high net worth estate planning, complex trust administration, business succession, international planning, interstate planning, asset protection, chartable giving, disability planning and trust disputes/litigation. Handle a heavily computerized environment and be comfortable working with: word processing programs; e-mail programs; case and file management software; and office-wide calendaring and coordination software. Strong drafting, problem solving, research, and negotiation skills are required. Must be a member in good standing with the California State Bar. Having an LL.M. degree in Tax or Estate Planning and/or specialization in advanced Estate Planning techniques are highly desired. Must have proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with Lexis practice management programs (Time Matters and/or Practice Advantage), Worldox and Wealth Counsel is a strong plus. Should have 1500+ billable hours per year.
