Legal Practice Assistant – Tax
Responsibilities: Draft and revise financing transaction documents, correspondence, and closing sets for attorney review. Conduct research, speak with clients, and coordinate internal resources when necessary. Review various documentation to obtain necessary information for document drafting. Manage transactions and monitor transaction processes. Assemble documents for execution and coordinate and track document delivery in an accurate and timely manner. Organize, compile and send closing books to clients. Open, close, and maintain organized hard copy and electronic files. Interact with clients and other professionals in a competent and kind manner by phone, e-mail, correspondence, or in person. Perform limited billing duties which may include invoice preparation and processing payments. Clerical duties may include preparing calendar invitations, composing routine correspondence, revising slide decks, printing and scanning documents, and reading and routing incoming mail. Perform shared office management duties which may include ordering office supplies, contacting building management for repairs, if needed, hosting clients and maintaining cleanliness of common areas.

Qualification and Experience

Requirements: 4-year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in MS Office applications: Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Outlook. Superior verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work professionally and confidentially with a variety of personalities from all levels of an organization. Proven organizational and multi-tasking skills. Independent, action-oriented thinker who will successfully undertake and complete projects and major tasks with limited supervision and work with other legal practice assistants/paralegals as a team. Preferred: 3 or more years related experience. Paralegal certification. Document management system experience.
