Paralegal/Legal Department Manager
The candidate will own management of firm’s contracts and legal document database. Coordinate with administrative support and legal team to manage the docketing and record-keeping functions as well as contribute to developing, implementing, and continuously improving the department’s processes, procedures and controls around information and knowledge management resources. Track and support legal team in active contract negotiations. Coordinate with other business functions on contract processes and interdependencies. Prepare and negotiate legal documents and agreements, such as nondisclosure agreements, consulting agreements, service agreements, and letters of intent. Manage filing and calendar dates for corporate, litigation, and IP matters. Assist with due diligence activities related to corporation transactions. Support IP counsel with docket management and filings related to firm’s IP portfolio. Prepare and review consent and release forms, insurance certificates, and other corporate disclosure forms and applications. Perform research and other special projects, as requested by legal team. Bachelor’s Degree with advanced degree preferred; Paralegal Certificate required. 5+ years’ paralegal experience in a corporate environment required. Biotech experience and science background preferred. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal required. Attention to detail and highly organized; able to shift focus efficiently between matters required. Excellent project management capabilities, with the ability to handle multiple projects at one time required.
