Litigation - General (consumer)
Legal Assistant Responsibilities: Preparing all legal documents including pleadings and affidavits. Verifying proper indexing and filing of legal documents. Monitoring and updating client websites with status of cases. Promptly responding to client requests via phone, email and websites. Receiving and handling calls from clients, defendants, counsel for defendants, and the Courts. Communicating and working with vendors to ensure timely and accurate handling of all files. Communicating with the Courts to obtain status of cases. Ensuring compliance with all new and existing client updates that pertain to the function for which the employee is hired. Maintaining confidential client and/or firm information, in accordance with federal, state and firm policies. Performs all such non-related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualification and Experience
Candidate must be detail oriented, a self-starter, have good interpersonal and communication skills and be computer literate. Ability to work in a fast-paced high volume environment and experience in a law office environment is a plus.
