Litigation Legal Assistant Duties: Draft, file & serve various legal documents including, answers, affidavits, notices, responses and pleadings. Request pertinent information / documents, and related items from clients and third parties; follow-up on unfulfilled requests. Prepare exhibit packages by reviewing internal databases and client sites, requesting needed documents from clients. Assist attorneys in preparing for court hearings by obtaining all necessary documents and briefing case status. Establish a strong follow-up system, which includes proper calendaring to ensure court hearings and deadlines are not missed and timeline expectations are met. Will be responsible for assisting with drafting litigation documents to submit for attorney approval. Responsible for communicating with opposing council extensively, as well as providing status updates to clients via phone, email, and web based communication systems.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Associates Degree/Professional Certificate, Bachelor’s Degree preferred. 3+ years prior office experience. 1+ year of legal / document preparation experience in a professional setting. Strong scheduling skills, with great attention to detail. Professional attitude with excellent written and verbal communications skills.
