Don Pathways Internship Program (security Clerk Student Trainee) The candidate provide students with realistic exposure to career opportunities, early adaptation to the work environment, and exposure to people, places, and situations. Clerical positions at NRL play an important role in the support of the NRL scientists and engineers. Administrative Support students will use a variety of office automation software and equipment, including word processing and spreadsheets to prepare various correspondence and reports from handwritten drafts into proper format with responsibility for correct spelling, grammar, capitalization, and punctuation. Must be able to type 40wpm. Administrative Support duties may include: Assisting with maintaining schedules/calendars. Planning travel and preparing travel documents. Assisting staff on routine data entry and tracking. Setting up files and filing. Copying, assembling, and distributing documents. Answering telephones and routing to staff members, as appropriate. Greeting customers and answering routine questions; referring non-routine questions to appropriate staff member. Monitoring and ordering office supplies. Reviewing and certifying purpose of visit and classification level of visit for foreign travel requests. Maintaining record logs. Reviewing submissions for security policy compliance. The candidate meet the following required level of education: Completion of 4 academic years of post-high school study leading to a Bachelor's degree (or more advanced degree). Enrollment must be on at least a half-time basis. Note: 30 semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) is comparable to 1 year of undergraduate education. 120 semester hours of progressive study is comparable to 4 years and/or completion of an undergraduate degree. Grade Point Average (G.P.A.) Requirement: This position requires to currently possess and maintain an overall G.P.A. of 2.5 or greater out of a 4.0 scale. Qualifying Education: Any of the following educational institutions or curricula that have been accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the secretary of the U.S. Department of Education: A 4-year college or university; or A graduate or professional school (e.g., law school, medical school).
