Job Overview

A leading law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Defense Attorney to join its General Liability practice group. This role involves handling a range of defense cases, including premises liability, personal injury, automobile and trucking accidents, construction defects, and habitability matters. The ideal candidate will have over five years of relevant experience and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. This position offers flexibility with remote and hybrid work options.

Location

• Irvine, CA 

Duties

• Defend general liability cases involving premises liability, personal injury, wrongful death, automobile/trucking accidents, construction defect, and habitability matters
• Conduct discovery, take depositions, and prepare and argue motions
• Assist in trial preparation and represent clients in various stages of litigation
• Work closely with clients to develop legal strategies and case management plans
• Collaborate with a team of experienced litigators and participate in mentorship opportunities

Requirements

• Admitted to the State Bar of California and in good standing
• At least 5 years of experience in general liability defense
• Demonstrated experience in discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Education

• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active membership with the California State Bar

• Proficient in managing complex litigation matters
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work well both independently and within a team
