Paralegal Duties: Initial review, analysis of incoming pleadings, correspondence and other legal documents. Draft pleadings, settlement agreements, dismissals, discovery, legal correspondence and memoranda for attorney review as required. Identify process improvements to ensure company compliance with legal requirements or to increase department efficiency. Research and locate assets available for recovery of judgments and coordinate with local law enforcement for the service and execution of bank levies and writs of execution. Organize and track files of important transaction or case documents. Prepare materials for use at hearings on relevant motions or depositions. Coordinate with out of state counsel regarding the status of post-judgment collection efforts. Monitor pending bankruptcy cases and prepare reports to in-house counsel regarding the same.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelorâ€™s degree and Paralegal Certificate are strongly preferred. 2+ years of experience in civil litigation in California. Experience with Writs of Attachment and Writs of Execution is preferred. Prior experience with California litigation procedures and processes, and e-filing. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to integrate into a fast-paced environment. Experience with high volume case loads, with over 50 active cases at a time, is preferred. Experience with bankruptcy filings is a plus. Must know Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) Must be able to work independently and/or with a team. Maintains strict confidentiality and exercises solid judgment to complete assigned tasks. Proficient with Microsoft Office software applications including Excel and Outlook for email. Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
