Human Resources Specialist (military), GS 9
Duties : Interpret current and proposed military personnel action regulations to determine the impact on an organization. Analyze military personnel data (e.g., Activity Manpower Documents, Officer Distribution Control Reports, Enlisted Distribution Verification reports, Total Workforce Manpower System data) to inform technical and business decisions. Compose correspondence detailing military personnel decisions to individuals. You will present information briefings on an enlisted distribution system. Collaborate with counterparts in the development of human resources program requirements.

Qualification and Experience

Qualification : Must have 1+ year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing military personnel administration functions to support the assignment/distribution of service members; 2) Analyzing enlisted personnel programs to identify and resolve functional problems; 3) Interpreting military personnel policies, regulations and laws to provide leadership guidance on all facets of enlisted availabilities, orders and assignments; and 4) Accessing personnel information systems to gather data and prepare reports/briefings for senior level review.

Education : Must have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree, or have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree, or Have obtained an LL.B. or J.D. or Have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
