Paralegal The candidate performs legal and factual research. Will drafts proposed responses to legal documentation and law enforcement/regulatory requests for information, including responses to subpoenas, discovery responses, and other responses. Organizes and tracks legal/case files. Checks and edits legal forms and documents for accuracy. Maintains corporate minute books. Maintains and updates templates for agreements or processes and procedures. Assists with internal investigations, subpoenas, document production, and/or discovery. Prepares, maintains, and transmits corporate, insurance filings, and other regulatory filings and correspondence, including annual Holding Company fillings and amendments as needed. Assists management in resolving complex legal issues on projects. Possesses a solid knowledge of businesses and broader business impact of legal matters. Assists with preparation of annual budget for review. Provides clerical and administrative support as needed. Performs additional legal projects as assigned. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Westlaw or equivalent legal research tool is needed. Advanced Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, and Westlaw skills is desired. A Paralegal certificate or an Associatesâ€™ Degree in Paralegal or Legal Studies or related field (or equivalent experience) is needed. A Bachelorâ€™s Degree in in Paralegal or Legal Studies is desired. Should have 2+ years of experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant or similar position in a law firm or corporate legal department. Must preferably have 3 years of experience as a Paralegal in a corporate legal department. Familiarity with the insurance industry, including policy and claim knowledge, is preferred.
