A law firm in Philadelphia, PA is seeking an Insurance and Reinsurance Associate Attorney with 2 to 6 years of experience in insurance coverage and commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of insurance coverage issues, including professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance policies. This role demands extensive civil litigation experience, including drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, handling all aspects of discovery and discovery motion practice, conducting depositions, and making court appearances. Experience in business development, client management, and independent case management is preferred. Candidates should have excellent academic credentials and demonstrate superior research and writing abilities.

Duties:

  • Analyze and provide legal counsel on insurance coverage issues under professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance policies.
  • Manage and resolve complex insurance coverage disputes and reinsurance matters.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, dispositive motions, and discovery requests.
  • Oversee all phases of the discovery process, including drafting discovery motions, managing document review, and addressing discovery disputes.
  • Conduct depositions and represent clients in court proceedings, including trials and hearings.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, managing cases from initiation through resolution.
  • Engage in business development activities to foster client relationships and grow the firm’s insurance and reinsurance practice.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to devise and implement case strategies.
  • Stay abreast of legal developments and changes in insurance and reinsurance laws.

Requirements:

  • 2 to 6 years of experience in insurance coverage and commercial litigation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of insurance coverage issues, including professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance.
  • Proven experience in drafting legal documents, managing discovery, conducting depositions, and representing clients in court.
  • Preferred experience in business development, client management, and independent case management.
  • Excellent academic credentials and demonstrated research and writing skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Pennsylvania State Bar or eligibility to practice in Pennsylvania.
