This role involves providing high-level patent application preparation, prosecution, and client counseling within the biotechnology sector. Duties
- Prepare and prosecute patent applications in biotechnology, ensuring comprehensive documentation and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Conduct legal and technical research to support patent strategies and opinions.
- Provide expert client counseling on patent-related matters, addressing client-specific needs and innovations.
- Collaborate with attorneys and technical advisors to deliver superior intellectual property solutions for clients.
- Analyze and interpret complex scientific data and research findings to strengthen patent applications.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of experience in intellectual property, particularly in patent preparation, prosecution, and client advisory roles.
- Strong technical background in biology, genetics, cell biology, microbiology, molecular biology, or a related field.
- Proficient writing and analytical abilities with the capacity to manage complex patent documents.
- Registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for at least three years.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, genetics, cell biology, microbiology, molecular biology, or a related field.
- Advanced technical degree (preferred but not required).
Certifications
- Registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
