Manager Income Tax Compliance The candidate directs, coordinates, performs or assists in performing activities related to tax planning for the retail organization. Tax planning relates to proposing to achieve the best tax results with respect to possible and/or anticipated transactions and the environment within which they happen. Position is also responsible for coordinating the tax accounting process with the controllers department and outside auditors in a SOX 404 environment. Assists in performing tax compliance activities. Manages the income tax compliance, provision and planning process for Fashion Holding Intermediate LLC and its related entities. Tax compliance responsibilities include all activities required to be performed in connection with the preparation, review and filing of tax returns and the ultimate acceptance of those returns by the taxing authorities. Tax planning relates to proposing to achieve the best tax results with respect to possible and/or anticipated transactions and the environment within they happen. Tax provision consists of all activities required to be performed in connection with the preparation, review and inclusion in the financial statements of the companyâ€™s provision of income taxes under ASC-740. Manages and/or performs the preparation of the quarterly and annual income tax provision and true-up under ASC-740 and SOX 404. Manages and/or performs the preparation, review and filing of tax returns, estimated tax payments, extensions, and refund claims. Study existing tax entity structures, policies, operations, procedures and business practices, and recommend changes that would reduce tax cost. Review specific proposed business transactions and recommend alternatives that achieve best tax results. Continually updates current and long-term tax forecasts used in Finance forecasts. Assist the Director - Income Tax with tax audit management. Coordinate responses to notices and processing of refund checks from taxing authorities. Develop management skills by assisting with staff training and development. Effectively communicate and work with other professionals both in and outside the department and company. Work with accounting personnel who develop and implement tax accounting policies and procedures, particularly in the area of deferred taxes, inventories, uniform capitalization rules, and depreciation, providing appropriate input into the process. Follow any job-related instructions requested by supervisor or management.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have College degree in a business field. Should preferably have 5+ years of tax compliance and/or planning experience, retail and/or Big 4 accounting firm experience. Experience with CorpTax or OneSource provision/compliance platforms is preferred. CPA or equivalent degree in taxation, or law degree with tax emphasis is needed. Management experience is must. Exceptional research skills is must.
