Profile

Consumer Lending Processor The candidate will be responsible for semi-complex to complex administrative, customer service, and credit analytics position providing support to the Consumer Lending Operations Team, Mortgage Loan Officers and the Retail network. Will be responsible for reviewing loan applications to ensure compliance with all state, federal and bank regulations, including TILA/Reg Z, Reg B, FCRA, RESPA, HMDA, privacy, and usury laws in the areas of credit cards, consumer secured and unsecured loans. Responsible for analyzing credit, income and collateral requirements, arranging for loan closings, ensuring completion of documentation, adherence to compliance, and providing a superior internal and external customer experience. Performs a variety of duties pertaining to processing, closing and compliance for residential home equity and consumer loans in accordance with Bank policies and procedures, governmental regulations and loan approval terms. Supports the Retail Network, Customer Care Center, and Mortgage Loan Officers in the origination of Home Equity (Closed End Seconds and HELOCS), non-residential consumer loans and credit cards. Maintains an understanding of all products, pricing, underwriting criteria and disclosures for all secured and unsecured consumer loan products. Maintains a complete understanding of applicable fees and services. Ensures that fees are updated as necessary throughout loan files to conserve and reduce costs. Communicates status/issues and respond to inquiries from all parties involved throughout the process by both phone and email within required timelines. Prepares and sends all necessary compliance disclosures including Loan Estimates within specified time frame; sends out proper documents on denied or withdrawn applications and updates loan records in computer system. Ensures that eConsent, mandatory disclosures and signatures have been obtained within required timeframe, as applicable. Ensures all documentation and communication around files is maintained within electronic imaging cabinet, conversation logs, and loan status updates. Reviews loan files to make sure that all information, forms, and documentation is collected, accurate and complete. Orders, monitors and processes incoming documentation and services, such as credit reports, flood certification and compliance documents in accordance with state, federal, bank and investor requirements. Reviews appraisals in accordance with bank guidelines, and evaluates collateral value in conjunction with product underwriting criteria and pricing. Ensures data is properly documented within loan origination system, and that appraisals are provided to applicants as required. Acts as registered mortgage loan officer (MLO) as required by the Safe Act. Escalates issues to management pertaining to borrowers or loan originators. Follows up in a timely manner regarding any inconsistencies within loan origination system or reporting. Exhibits eagerness to be cross trained across all product lines, assist with training as needed, and develop process efficiencies. Other duties and projects as they arise. Maintains strong knowledge and understanding of legal requirements and compliance issues pertaining to assigned work. Proactively attends webinars, workshops and seminars on issues pertinent to loan applications, underwriting and closing. Responsible for maintaining positive and supportive working environment for self and team. Proactively contributes to increasing process efficiency while maintaining high quality of work. Work involves daily contact by telephone, email, and in person when required. Contact requires diplomacy, tact, efficiency, and the ability to deal patiently with a wide variety of people.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have high school graduation or the equivalent (GED), supplemented by on-the-job training and college-level courses in banking, lending, and credit analysis.College-level courses in accounting, credit analysis, and paralegal matters pertaining to lending is desirable. Must have 1-3 years of progressively responsible positions in lending functions, including work with computerized systems, underwriting compliance and closing procedures. Must have considerable knowledge of lending products, activities, and related records, as well as the Bank's policies, procedures, and compliance issues as applied to processing, underwriting, closing, documentation, and records maintenance. Must be vomputer literate with considerable knowledge of loan software. Should be able to read, write and speak English clearly. Previous experience in processing within set lending guidelines at a bank or a mortgage company is desirable. Previous experience dealing with compliance issues, including to TILA and HMDA is desirable. Previous experience acting in a supervisory or leadership role is desirable.
