Associate Counsel â€“ Litigation The candidate will manage litigation, regulatory investigations and subpoenas involving a wide range of subject matters including consumer class actions, and employment, intellectual property, contract, products liability, premises liability, real property, or construction cases. Will respond to discovery, prepare and/or edit pleadings and settlement documents, prepare witnesses, represent the company in legal proceedings and alternative dispute resolution forums, and negotiate favorable resolutions of legal matters for the company. Select, retain, and manage the activities of outside counsel, including legal fee budgets, staffing, and case management. Prepare, distribute and monitor legal hold memoranda; develop and oversee e-discovery strategy and activity.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have J.D. Degree. Must have 3-5 years litigation experience, preferably with at least 3 years of experience at a law firm. Must have hands on experience managing all aspects of general commercial / business litigation matters is a must; employment litigation experience is desirable. Experience with budgeting and basic accounting concepts is also a plus. Must be admitted to practice law and a member in good stating of a State Bar. Judicial clerkship preferred. Must have computer skills in MS OFFICE (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Experience with Relativity One a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills needed.
