Bethesda office of our client seeks trust and estates associate attorney with 3+ years of experience drafting estate planning documents, preparing probate filings and estate tax returns, and administering trusts. The candidate will represent an exciting and unique opportunity for professional growth within the established and prestigious firm, which is rapidly expanding its substantial estate planning and administration practice. Will draft estate planning documents (wills, trust agreements, powers of attorney, advance medical directives, deeds). Prepare probate filings (petitions for probate, inventories, accounts, inheritance tax returns and petitions for assorted relief). Trust administration (prepare accountings, prepare Crummey Notices, track and pay trust expenses, track and pay trust distributions, facilitate the filing of trust tax returns). Prepare various correspondence with clients, financial institutions, insurance companies, Register of Wills Offices and government agencies. Prepare and file state and federal estate tax returns. An advanced degree such as an . degree and/or professional certifications preferred. Maryland Bar admission required. Membership or ability to waive to . and/or Virginia Bars a plus. A current active member of the Maryland Bar (in good standing) essential. Virginia and/or Bar membership or ability to waive in a plus.
