Senior Paralegal The candidate will provide timely professional quality paralegal and administrative support to the Law Department with respect to litigation and other assigned matters. itigation Assistance Assist company's in-house attorney(s) in the management of company's product and non-product litigation, including: Act as Corporate liaison among company's outside counsel, internal and external experts and Business Unit personnel. Keep abreast of developments and status of assigned cases and communicate developments to company's in-house attorney(s), which requires working knowledge and analysis of products, facts and issues. Assist outside counsel and Business Unit representatives in responding to subpoenas and discovery requests, including locating and obtaining responsive Corporate and Business Unit records. Generate reports as directed and prepare drafts of status reports, pre-trial memoranda and settlement reports and other correspondence for company's in-house attorneys. Maintain on a current basis case management data base for all assigned cases. Prepare and maintain as appropriate, statistical records on a periodic and annual basis with respect to products and litigation, as requested and respond in a timely and professional manner to appropriate requests for information from company's legal staff, Business Unit and Corporate personnel and company's trial counsel. Attend mediation/arbitration settlement conferences and trials on behalf of company entities as directed by company attorneys, which requires preparatory file review and communications with outside and in- house attorneys. Assist in support of non-litigation matters, such as transactional, product safety, commercial and corporate. Perform legal research. Organize, maintain and prepare the compilation of information for the General Counsel's monthly Board Report to the Board of Directors. Act as the end-user administrator for the case management system. Provide assistance for processing of invoices. Assist development group with litigation due diligence during acquisition / divestiture projects. Organize meetings and outreach events with outside-counsel and other litigation group key contacts.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must be High school graduate (associates degree in legal studies or business desirable) with paralegal certificate or equivalent. Should have 5+ years of experience within a law firm or corporation dealing with litigation and claims management and procedures. Should have proven analytical and organizational skills to assist in the coordination and management of litigation, other legal and commercial issues, documents and record keeping. Good oral and written communication skills required in order to interact and communicate within the Law Department, and with Corporate, Business Unit and outside personnel and prepare various reports.
