Litigation Paralegal
Duties: Assist with various aspects of the dispute/litigation process from inception through closure including fact finding and analysis, formulating recommendations, reviewing and analyzing leases and related documents, drafting and reviewing demand letters, preparing status reports, managing service of process documents, calendaring and tracking deadlines and working with outside counsel and collection agency. Assist with the gathering of information and materials for responding to discovery and subpoenas, including the organization and management of electronic documents and data. Track case developments. Coordinate with Risk Management team concerning insured litigation matters. Support other Legal Department and Investment Services teams in performing acquisition due diligence analysis concerning litigation, bankruptcy or environmental related issues. Assist with managing legal and documentation aspects of environmental remediation, related investigation and litigation. Assist with managing entitlements litigation and/or union disputes in connection with development projects.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-certified program preferred. 5-10 years of related work experience with a law firm or in-house legal department. Must have strong PC skills with Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel and Outlook) as well as the ability to learn and use new computer systems and databases. Experience with electronic discovery, litigation and document management software is a plus. Superior written and verbal communication skills required. Professional demeanor. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment requiring exceptional organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team with attention to detail. Must be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
