Labor and Employment Counsel The candidate will be supporting labor, corporate, commercial, or financing related matters as legal BP in corresponding practice areas. Will be supporting Human Resources to resolve and address day to day labor and employement matters and to review and revise templates and policies to address business needs. Supporting Supply Chain with review and negotiation of service agreements, construction contracts, equipment terms and conditions and non-disclosure agreements. Working with various internal clients to find solutions for business initiatives. Handling some supplier and other disputes, including negotiating settlements. Monitoring and controlling legal and compliance risks in the practice areas. Conducting internal legal trainings for HR and business partners. Other work that may be assigned to you to support the general corporate legal practice. Must have Juris Doctorate degree admitted to a US state Bar (CA preferred) and in good standing. Should have 8+ years of law firm and/or in-house experience; Strong academic background; Substantial experience in providing business-oriented solutions; Excellent oral and written communication skills and a team player. Experience in automotive or tech industry, startup experience preferred. Strong business acumen in supporting start-up and ventures is preferred. Knowledge about equity/debt financing and capital markets transactions is preferred. Experience with managing outside counsels and creating templates, business processes, and best practices is preferred.
