Attorney Editor - Venture Capital and Investment Management The candidate will help deliver a compelling and all-purpose practical guidance legal product across targeted markets as a member of a multi-disciplined team of content developers, product planners, IT specialists, external consultants, and marketing and sales reps.Will develop, write and edit practice notes on a variety of investment management topics and trends. Draft and annotate fund formation, compliance and transactional documents. Recruit outside expert authors to contribute content to the product offering. Assist in the design of the product’s customer interface, contribute to customer facing messaging/marketing, and participate in sales and customer training. Develop, write and edit practice notes on a variety of investment management topics and trends. Monitor investment management practice area trends/news. Recruit external authors and contributors to author content for the product. Make recommendations concerning content tools and utility. Monitor competitiveness of the product offering. Interface with customers and analyze customer feedback. Assist in product design and application. Support sales efforts via product demonstrations and contribute to sales and customer trainings.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have 5+ years of experience practicing investment management with a focus on private fund formation and/or manager compliance. Significant experience with fund formation documents as well as drafting and negotiating compliance materials, conducting fund launches and on related corporate and investment management matters is essential. Deep knowledge of investment management trends and workflow is essential. Strong professional network of investment management attorneys is essential. Excellent writing and research skills; experience writing for a law journal, drafting client alerts and/or composing and delivering CLE presentations a huge plus. Excellent communication and presentation skill is essential.Experience leading associate training programs a plus. Active Bar membership in good standing is essential. Must have recent and intimate knowledge of private fund formation and registered investment adviser regulation, as well as familiarity with the legal process and attorney workflow.
