A law firm seeks an experienced and motivated Associate Litigation Attorney to join its team in Sherman Oaks, California. This position is ideal for someone with 2-6 years of solid litigation experience, particularly in business and real estate disputes. The successful candidate will contribute to all phases of litigation, including drafting pleadings, conducting depositions, and preparing for trial, while collaborating with a dynamic and experienced team of legal professionals.

Duties:

  • Draft, edit, and review pleadings, motions, briefs, and written discovery documents.
  • Prepare for and assist in depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Handle case management tasks, including organizing and maintaining case files.
  • Research legal issues, precedents, and statutes to support litigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop effective legal strategies for clients.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Ensure that all legal documents and filings are accurate and completed on time.

Requirements:

  • 2-6 years of litigation experience, preferably in business and real estate law.
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Solid knowledge of litigation procedures and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
  • CA Bar admission and be in good standing.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in California.

Skills:

  • Expertise in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery.
  • Experience in preparing for and conducting depositions and trial preparation.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment while also working independently.
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues and communicate them effectively to clients and colleagues.
